Sew’s Music Classes
Policies Attendance: I will always do my best to allow flexibility in lesson scheduling, but I ask that you also respect the commitment I have made to your musical development by reserving a spot for you in my class. Students are expected to attend a minimum of three lessons each month. In my experience I have rarely seen progress in students with erratic lesson attendance. Cancellations: If you need to miss a lesson, please let me know more than 24 hours in advance of your scheduled time. I know there are times when this is not possible. In these cases and if you have given enough notice you will not be required to make any extra payments. If you need require a make up lessons please feel free to let me know. I will try my very best to accommodate this request for you. When I Cancel: In cases where I need to cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled time, you will not be required to make up the missed lesson. Lesson Payment: Payment is expected at the beginning of every month. If you have special circumstances and need to discuss payment arrangements, please let me know. Payments can only be accepted as cash or cheque at this time. Other Costs: Occasionally, there may be additional costs associated with your music study such as the cost of new music/books. In most cases, I will purchase the music books and ask to be reimbursed. Practice Commitment: Students are expected to make a minimal commitment to practice. This amount will be determined on an individual basis. For younger students, this commitment will be discussed with the students’ parent(s). If you plan to leave the class: In the event you need to discontinue your lessons, I require an advanced notice of two weeks at minimum. This notice will help me find a student to fill your spot. If there are extenuating circumstances and it is not possible to give a two-week notice, please talk with me individually about your situation. I sincerely strive to make my class a welcoming and safe place for each student to explore his/her own musical interests and modes of expression. If at any time you are not content with any aspect of training, please do not hesitate to talk with me openly. Additionally, if you would like clarification about any aspect of the policies above, I am happy to discuss them with you.
